Indirect Measurement
A way of measuring things that are difficult to measure directly.
Interior Angles
When two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, four interior angles are formed on the inside of the parallel lines.
Irrational Number
A number that cannot be written as the quotient of two integers. The decimal form of an irrational number neither terminates or repeats.
Isosceles Triangle
A triangle with at least two congruent sides.
Legs
The sides of a right triangle that form the right angle.
Linear Function
A function whose graph is a line is a linear function. You can represent a linear function with a linear equation.
Nonlinear Function
A function that does not have a constant rate of change. The graph of a nonlinear function is not a line.
Perfect Square
Numbers whose square roots are integers or quotients of integers.
Perpendicular Lines
Lines that intersect to form right angles.
Polygon
A simple closed figure in a plane formed by three or more line segments.
Pythagorean Triple
A set of nonzero whole numbers a, b, and c that satisfy the equation a2 + b2 = c2
